Dave
Evans Transports, Inc.
Dave Evans at the age of 12 received an early education on how to
deal with the public sector when his parents owned a full service
resort on a lake in McGregor Minnesota.
After a few years, the resort was sold and Dave and his father,
Martin, toyed with construction equipment digging basements, building
driveways, plowing snow and starting cars in subzero cold.
At the age of 17 and a senior in high school, Dave started working
part time for Wayne Transports. As time passed, Dave had a great
passion for driving a commercial vehicle. He received his Class
A (CDL) on his 18th birthday. Dave worked at Wayne Transports for
4 years. At the time when Dave left Wayne Transports, he worked
under lease to Cutler Magner Company for one year, then started
his own company in the transportation of various dry bulk products.
During this time he met his wife, Dawn, who handles most of the
day to day secretarial duties at Dave Evans Transports, Inc. Dave
& Dawn have two children, Amy, who helps out in the billing department,
and David Jr. who works in the repair shop.
Bob Evans (Dave's nephew) and Joel Formo head up dispatch. Both
Bob & Joel drove truck for Dave Evans Transports, Inc. for a number
of years before moving into dispatch. Up until about 1994 Dave &
his wife Dawn handled all the dispatch and office duties.
Vern Bryce is Dave's Fleet Manager. Vern also drove truck for Dave
Evans Transports, Inc. before his current position.
With the turnover rate being very low, Dave Evans Transports, Inc.
has great a crew of drives who have driven for the company for long
time. Dave and the crew have built Dave Evans Transports, Inc. into
one of the upper Midwest's largest dry bulk carriers that prides
itself on service and a job done well.
Throughout time Dave Evans Transports, Inc. has added liquid chemical
tanks, end dump trailers and a rail transfer yard to it's diversity.
